My original plan to build a public, family-friendly golf facility for $150,000 was tweaked so that we were able to open a scaled-back version with donations of $40,000.
The 6 pitch and putt holes that we were able to build (along with a 150 yard driving range) is not enough space to hold the clients that are coming. There is more land to expand the course but work has to be done to plant new grass.
Most of the money needed is in manual labor, herbicides, sand and fencing. When we achieve our fund raising goal, we will have enough money for a 9-hole par three course, each hole being between 70-120 yards. Each ho
le will also have a set of “Family tees” for kids and true beginners.
Please consider helping us bring public golf to those who would otherwise never have the chance to experience what golf has to offer. I make no apologies for what I am doing. I know that we are not saving lives with our Foundation, but we are raising hopes and building character to the kids and families of Colombia who are coming.
